Back in Business – Home Studio!

Personal

June 8, 2020

2019 was quite the year for me, and not necessarily in the best way. Business was great but my personal life had it’s share of struggle. From my mom being hospitalized for an extended time, and at one point on life support, to my childhood home being set on fire and burned to the ground. Oh, not to mention that the timing on those things overlapped. Yeah, did forget to say that it was quite a year?!

Among one of the many many things we lost, ALL of my photography equipment was a complete loss. Granted, this did not compare to the many invaluable and emotional items we lost, it still really stung. Not to mention, REALLY affected my business. I also had a completely furnished home studio, which brought in a great deal of photography business in itself – Losing that was really hard. Again, recognizably replaceable… and I am grateful for that. As a small business owner, you don’t just snap and have a plethora of photography equipment and a furnished home studio, though.

The very first set up in my new studio was an adorable cake smash session for a one year old!
How stinking cute is she?!

I went into 2020 looking for a fresh, new and positive start. Well, we see how that went. Don’t worry, I am smiling while writing this. If you don’t find a reason to, you’ll cry and I think we can all agree there. During the time my full time job was closed due to covid I was able to dedicate a lot of energy to re-establishing a NEW HOME STUDIO!!!

I FINALLY have a home studio again, y’all! This is HUGE and so exciting for me and provides so much more opportunity for my photography business and clients! It was really important to me to make this happen again because before the fire it was a huge part of my business and I am so proud to have been able to offer studio sessions to my clients. I am so elated to be able to share this peek at it and to be FINALLY back into in-home studio sessions! Bring on the cake smashes, newborn babies and everything in between!

“A dream does not become reality through magic; It takes sweat, determination and hard work.”

Thank you for all of the support. I couldn’t do any of this without my amazing clients!

All the best,

Ashley
