What’s in My Camera Bag? A Look at My Photography Gear
As a photographer, my gear is my toolkit—it allows me to capture moments with precision, creativity, and quality. Over the years, I’ve built a collection of cameras, lenses, and flashes that help me tackle a wide range of photography needs. Whether I’m shooting portraits, landscapes, or events, I always have the right setup ready to go. Here’s a look at what’s in my camera bag.
Cameras: My Workhorses
- Canon R6 – My go-to mirrorless body, perfect for fast autofocus and low-light performance.
- Canon 5D Mark IV – A reliable DSLR that still holds its own with excellent dynamic range and resolution.
- Canon 5D Mark III – A solid backup body that delivers great colors and a rugged build.
Lenses: Covering Every Focal Length
I believe that having the right lens makes all the difference, so I carry a mix of primes and zooms to adapt to any situation.
- Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8 – A versatile telephoto lens, great for portraits and events.
- Sigma 35mm f/1.4 Art – My favorite for storytelling, with sharp details and beautiful bokeh.
- Sigma 10-20mm – A solid wide-angle option for landscapes and architecture.
- Sigma 85mm f/1.4 – A portrait powerhouse with creamy background blur.
- Canon 17-40mm L – My go-to for ultra-wide shots and environmental portraits.
- Canon RF 16mm – A compact and fun lens for creative perspectives.
- Canon 100mm f/2.8 Macro L – Perfect for close-up shots and macro photography.
- Canon 50mm f/1.2 L – A classic prime with dreamy bokeh and outstanding low-light performance.
- Canon RF 28-70mm f/2.0 – A beast of a lens, offering incredible image quality and flexibility.
- Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 L – My reliable all-around zoom for weddings and events.
- Canon 24-105mm f/4.0 L – A versatile travel lens with solid stabilization.
Flashes: Lighting on the Go
Lighting is key, and I always keep a few flashes in my bag to control the mood of my shots.
- Godox V860 II C (x3) – My go-to flashes for off-camera lighting setups.
- Canon EX II-RT – A solid TTL flash for quick, on-the-fly adjustments.
Accessories: The Essentials
Aside from cameras, lenses, and flashes, there are two things I never leave home without:
- Plenty of SD cards – Running out of storage mid-shoot is not an option, so I always carry multiple high-speed SD cards.
- Extra batteries – Nothing kills creativity faster than a dead battery, so I make sure to have fully charged spares on hand.
Final Thoughts
This setup gives me the flexibility to handle everything from weddings to landscapes to macro photography. While I don’t carry every piece of gear at once, I always choose a combination based on the shoot.
