The Honards | Married at Fairview Farm Events
This gorgeous event in the small town of Powhatan, Virginia serves as the perfect example of the weddings and couples I hope to attract in 2021-2022. Confident, bold, genuine, colorful, glowy, detailed, elegant, absolute bliss.
If there’s such a thing as “the perfect wedding day”, I do believe the Honard’s intimate Fairview Farm event could give the others a run for their money. Bright summer colors like sherbet, magenta, and lush greens filled every crevice and cranny and played with the gorgeous sun so wonderfully. This wedding is literally any sun-worshiping, flower-lovers dream. Where’s my strawberry daiquiri?
Karri & Brian are literally two of the sweetest people I’ve ever met. Their close friends and family will be the first to tell you that this couple would take the shirt off their backs to help another. Karri was such a relaxed and sweet bride, always trusting my vision no matter how crazy I may have sounded. Brian and his friends were a bunch of goofballs, which made my day full of laughter and fun! I could not have asked for more beautiful models, inside and out — my favorite kind of people.
Fairview Farm Events is such an incredible all-inclusive venue… those country scenes and sunsets are just everything. Nothing captures a couple’s charm more than these simplistic, natural settings. Not to mention, their team has weddings down to a science and takes the guesswork out of everything. 10/10 recommend (Plus, I’m a preferred vendor there!)
This glow. OOOOH, this glow. I’ll never forget peeking up from my dinner plate to glance over my assistant’s shoulder, only to find the MOST gorgeous glow I’ve ever seen dancing across the field. I dropped my fork, grabbed my camera, and bee-lined to my couple. “Let me steal you away for a few minutes,” I asked. They trusted me and just looooooook whaaaaat haaaaaappened!!!!!!!!

Question: What was it like to work with Ashley Dorton Photography leading up to your wedding day?
Karri’s Answer: Leading up to the wedding day, Ashley was great! She was always there and happy to help if I needed to ask something! I was introduced to her work when she photographed one of our friend’s weddings and newborn portraits. I absolutely loved her work, so I reached out about having her document our big day.
Question: What was it like to work with Ashley Dorton Photography on your wedding day?
Karri’s Answer: On the day of my wedding, Ashley arrived on time and ready to rock n’ roll with her awesome assistant! She took a ton of photos and utilized several different locations on the property of our venue. ALL the photos came out amazing– she truly has that “special touch!”
Question: What was it like to work with Ashley Dorton Photography after your wedding day?
Karri’s Answer: After the wedding, Ashley was amazing at keeping in touch, and she even sent over a sneak peek gallery for us to view within a week of our wedding! I was so thankful for her always-present smile, her easy-going attitude, and her incredible patience with my wild crew.
Question: What was your favorite highlight/memory from working with Ashley Dorton Photography?
Karri’s Answer: My favorite highlight with Ashley was when she took us out for our sunset pictures. She really took her time with us, made us feel like a special and beautiful couple, and let us know how much she’d love to take more pictures with us in the future.
Question: Advice to brides thinking about booking Ashley Dorton Photography for their wedding day?
Karri’s Answer: My advice on booking Ashley as your wedding photographer is, IT’S A MUST! She is amazing at what she does, very down to earth, and she has an eye for capturing the perfect moments at just the right time!! We can’t wait to do many more sessions with Ashley. She was a joy and a pleasure to work with.
