My longtime friend Jacquelyn recently graduated from VCU’s Nursing Program and I am so excited to share this blog featuring her session!

Jac and I have been friends over a decade! We met in high school through mutual friends and have kept in touch since. It has been a lot of fun to watch each other grow from high schoolers to mature women with careers and kids (me) and it has been even better to actually walk through these phases of life together. There is nothing like a true friend and Jac is definitely that for me and for my daughter Reagan.

I’m so excited for Jacquelyn as she has graduated Magna Cum Laude and as a member of Sigma Theta International Honor Society of Nursing – Gamma Omega Chapter…. from a rigorous and competitive nursing program…. in the middle of a pandemic. There’s one solid way to cheers to becoming a nurse!

In all seriousness, I am so proud of her accomplishments and know that she will make an incredible nurse!

I sent Jacquelyn a small Q&A to discuss aspects of her session. I love getting feedback from clients but sometimes gathering it from friends really gets down to the nitty gritty. They’ll tell ya like it is! Thankfully, Jacquelyn had really sweet words to share that made my heart so full. She said “I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of my session but I would have to say that my favorite part was seeing your creativity come to life. You made me feel so comfortable and at ease. We were able to capture several amazing photos in a short amount of time. I would highly recommend you to any and everyone searching for a photographer and intend to use you for all of my future sessions.”

If there was ever a way to make me cry, it’s reading that. Not only because they are sweet words from a treasured friend, but because they echo so many of my goals as a photographer. I want to make all of my clients feel comfortable, in their element and at ease when they’re in front of my camera! Above all, I recognize that every single one of my clients could choose absolutely anyone else to take their pictures, but they have chosen me and that is not something I do or will ever take lightly.

I love what I do. Thank you for allowing me to do it.

Go get ’em Jac! Congratulations!! I know you’ll do amazing things!

With love and gratitude,

Ashley
